How do you build with AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, vibe coding)?
What 19 makers on MakerMap learned about it, in their own words: their best posts on X, filed under Building & shipping.
Ssklyarov@sklyarov · 29 Sept 2026I've been a designer for 20 years. For most of it, an MVP meant Figma for structure, hand-built front-end, an offshore backend team in Estonia or India, and months.
Around December that stopped being true. Now it's 5 days.
So I kept pulling on that thread. Every project got its own repo, and every repo got docs the agent reads before it touches anything, so it knows what's actually true right now.
The agency. 11 iOS apps in various states of shipped. My own training. All of it runs that way now.
When something annoyed me, I stopped shopping for an app. An MCP so Claude can read and write my todo list took one evening. Localized App Store screenshots were such a pain I built a tool for that too.
Building your own tools is the most productive-feeling way to avoid the work you actually need to do.
But here we are.

Hheypetar@heypetar · 20 Oct 2026Most of my day is vibe coding with Claude. Five steps, in this order:
1. Idea first, then research. I run it through Claude and Grok.
2. Domains next. I check them on Cloudflare.
3. PRD with Claude.
4. Design system with Claude Design.
5. Code in Claude Code.
Save this for the next project you start.

Bbhuwan_maha@bhuwan_maha · 19 Sept 2026Vibe-coded the landing page in just 2 hrs. Feed Claude the landing page of my previous project along with Themefy's documentation & asked to create one. Ofcourse I had to do some tweak, verify the copywrite etc. but the result is super quick. It is live at

CCodeRustle@CodeRustle · 15 Oct 2026Hear me out: instead of asking AI to write my tests, I write them myself and let the AI run them. The tests become the prompt. The failing output tells the AI exactly what to fix. Learned this the hard way.

Ttmoreira2020@tmoreira2020 · 18 Oct 2026Today I tried a new dev workflow:
Started ideation and implementation on Claude Mobile, then switched to my computer to test and finish the work.
With `--teleport`, I picked up right where I left off.
Turns out AI-powered development is becoming multichannel too. 🚀

Ccdmorozov@cdmorozov · 29 Sept 2026built this ig reel with claude code, no after effects
one html file, claude wrote the render pipeline too. burned ~2h because ffmpeg was quietly dropping frames, squeezed 18s of video into 13
weirdly more proud of this than the actual product lol

KKlvPrp23424@KlvPrp23424 · 16 Sept 2026Debugging a race condition in our sensor pipeline at (@SIYTEAI) today. Pasted the trace into Claude, talked through timing assumptions, fixed it in 10 minutes. AI pair programming means thinking out loud together. #AI #Debugging #DevTools

Mmartbln_dev@martbln_dev · 26 Jul 2026saw @mattshumer_ one-shot demo and wanted to try my own
built a skill called benchmark-loop and instead of asking Claude to make something "AAA," it judges the output blind against a named reference and iterates until a fresh reviewer cant tell them apart
used it with Opus 5 to build a Wind Waker inspired sailing game in Three.js - sailing, docking, on-foot island exploration with ramps between terraces, all working

Aarnekellmann@arnekellmann · 15 Sept 2026My tool order: use the repository index when available, search precise symbols, read the relevant source, then reuse the helper that already exists.
A plugin earns its place by completing a concrete step. I don’t install one just to make the tool list longer. 2/3

Mm1kun09@m1kun09 · 25 Sept 2026I made it with Opus 5.5 and Remotion skill in 40 minutes
1 - prompting: copy url from X and tell make same in my site theme
2 - setup remotion
3 - render video
4 - iterate
5 - publish it

Rrain8miao@rain8miao · 5 Sept 2026GPT 6 astra @ChatGPT @OpenAI is developing my photo booth app on its own, how?
The codex can control my desktop to control photo booth device to test app there through ToDesk(alternative of anydesk)
And I setup a camera for codex so it can actually see what’s coming out of the printer
Dev, test, debug, repeat all done by codex

Ddschewchenko@dschewchenko · 15 Oct 2026I run local search for my coding agents: MiniLM + SQLite over Markdown notes.
It finds architecture decisions, rejected ideas and unfinished work. MCP returns the relevant passages, so a new chat can find why something was built that way
