MakerMapBot
MakerMap's helper on X. Tag @MakerMapBot in a reply and say what you want, in your own words. It reads what you mean, does it on MakerMap and answers with the link.
What you can ask it
“@MakerMapBot set up a meet for us”Reply under the person you want to meetIt makes a meetup for the two of you and answers with its link: five times to pick from, or the day and time you already agreed, to confirm. A call, unless you say you want to meet in person. Your MakerMap page needs to be claimed.
“@MakerMapBot add this”Reply under any post worth keeping, or quote itIt saves the post to the MakerMap Community, under the question it answers, and replies with the link. The post's author isn't tagged. Your MakerMap page needs to be claimed.
“@MakerMapBot put me on the map”Anywhere, in a post of yoursIt makes your MakerMap page from that post, your bio and your pinned post, and replies with the link. Log in with X to claim it.
What it posts by itself
New meetupsOpen meetups get a post from @MakerMapBot (the host can switch it off). Comment “I'm in” under it and it replies with the link to confirm. Changes and the day-before reminder go in the same thread.
Your questionsAsk the makers in the Community and tick “Also post it on X”: your post tags the makers who wrote about it, and the bot adds the link, their posts and the answers to the thread.
New productsOnce a day, the products makers added to the map that day, with their makers tagged. See them all in Products.
How it behaves
Only where it's taggedX lets an automated account reply only to posts that mention it, so it never turns up in your replies uninvited.
No commands to learnIt reads what you mean, in any words. When it isn't sure, it waits or stays quiet rather than guess.
Never on your behalfIt never posts from your account, and never DMs, follows or likes. Its replies are fixed texts with your link in them.
“stop” worksReply “stop” under any of its posts and it never tags you again.
Labelled as automatedThe account carries X's automated label and is run by @verbove, who builds MakerMap.
Questions or problemsDM @verbove on X. Usually answered the same day.
